Job description

Fedasil provides material assistance to applicants for international protection and to other foreigners who are entitled to reception ('Reception Act' of 12 January 2007). The Agency organises, directly or via its partners, high-quality reception and guidance and is also responsible for the observation and orientation of unaccompanied foreign minors (the 'UMAs'). Fedasil coordinates the organisation of voluntary return to the countries of origin. The Agency supports the development and preparation of the reception policy and aims to contribute to a correct image, social acceptance and the implementation of a fair migration policy.

FUNCTION

Goal

You are responsible for the daily management of a team of employees. You lead the team to results and support the professional development of the employees.

Context

The centre has a capacity of 70 places intended for the reception of UASCs.  

These staff members have a wide range of profiles and are responsible for the smooth operation of the center: social workers, educators, receptionists, nurses, counselors, and more. The reception center not only provides basic daily needs (such as shelter, food, and clothing), but applicants for international protection also receive social, legal, and medical assistance. Furthermore, the center organizes various activities and training courses so that residents can make good use of their time. As a service manager, you will work within the logistics and technical department, which consists of five employees. Content

You determine the objectives, task division and priorities for the team in consultation with the management. You follow up the daily operations. You contribute to an operational plan, procedures and vademecums.

You ensure clear communication within the service, you organize consultation moments and are responsible for the knowledge management of the service.

You draw up work schedules and you monitor and improve the operation of the service. You use KPIs and you pay attention to compliance with the work regulations, codes of conduct and regulations.

You motivate and evaluate your employees and encourage them to develop their knowledge and competencies.

You guarantee good cooperation between your service and other services and people inside and outside the center. You participate in multidisciplinary consultation.

You support your service with recurring activities in case of absences.

Diploma and experience

You have a higher secondary education diploma.

You have initial relevant professional experience in team coordination.

Technical competencies

You have knowledge of tools for team coordination.

You have a good basic knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, ...

You have a feel for/are interested in working with a vulnerable and diverse target group.

Type of agreement

Reserve for a full-time contract (38 hours).
A recruitment reserve is established for all types of contracts for a period of 2 years.

Category C: Continuous schedule with fixed hours and performances during the day, early, late, night and weekend work.

You will be recruited at level C1 with the salary scale that applies to you. The minimum monthly salary is €2.524,48 gross (starting salary based on a full-time employment contract, at the current index). SELECTION PROCEDURE

Pre-selection

The selection committee studies all applications. The pre-selection is based on your application file (CV and motivation letter, diploma + equivalence and certificate if necessary). Only the candidates whose profile best matches the job requirements will be invited for a selection interview.

Selection

The selection process consists of a written test and an interview and will take place in the second half of September 2025. The applications of suitable candidates will be kept in a recruitment pool for two years. This pool can be consulted by other reception centers. Unsuccessful candidates will be barred from participating in a new application process for a similar position at the same level for six months.
