For over 75 years, Israel has subjected the Palestinians to a regime of apartheid and colonialism. For 56 years, there has been an illegal occupation. This has been accompanied by numerous human rights violations, including mass killings, arbitrary arrests, torture, forced displacement and destruction of property. Israel thus continues to violate international law and denies the right to self-governance in Palestine.

11.11.11 works closely with organizations on the ground and in coalitions in Palestine.

Draw the red line with us

On June 110.000, 15 people painted Brussels red. Against genocide. Against impunity. For justice. On September 7, 110.000 people once again drew a red line and a red card.

Pressure works – and it must continue. Thanks to all the citizens who joined us on the streets.

WE DISPLAYED THE RED CARD EN MASSIVELY:

Red card for Israel
Red card for complicity
Red card for Belgium and the European Union
Red card for companies that are complicit
Red card for military, economic and diplomatic support for genocide

110.000 people are once again drawing the red line in Brussels

What have we already achieved, together with many others?

Following the horrific Hamas terrorist attack on October 7, 2023, Israel launches a devastating campaign of punishment against the civilian population in Gaza. In the months that follow, the federal government takes several important measures. Belgium is one of the first EU countries to call for a ceasefire, provides an additional five million euros for the International Criminal Court investigation, advocates for Belgian and European sanctions against Israeli settlers and a ban on trade with illegal settlements. The federal government also expresses its support for the genocide investigation of the International Court of Justice, and strengthens its support for the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWAWithin the EU, Belgium is also campaigning for a suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement and is joining the call of the UN Human Rights Council to restrict the supply of arms to Israel.

Due to continued pressure from the Don't Buy Into Occupation-coalition, Norwegian pension fund Storebrand announces in May 2024 that it will divest from 2 companies (CAF and IBM) that are active in Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory. Together with our Palestinian partners, we also ensured that the United Nations created a database of companies that contribute to human rights violations in the settlement industry in 2020, which was updated in June 2023.

We are putting a spanner in the works for the flow of weapons to the Israeli army. In May 2024, together with several partners, we will take the Israeli shipping company ZIM to court for violations of Flemish weapons legislation. In this way, we want to prevent the transit of hundreds of tons of ammunition via the Port of Antwerp. In June 2024, we will publish a new report which maps the financial relationships between arms suppliers to the Israeli military and European financial institutions.
