THE CLIMATE CRISIS DOES NOT AFFECT EVERYONE EQUALLY. ON THE CONTRARY.

From drought in Somalia to raging forest fires in South America or floods in Wallonia: the consequences of the climate crisis are being felt worldwide. But they do not affect everyone equally. On the contrary. The greatest consequences mainly affect those people and countries that are least responsible for it, and that have the least resources to protect themselves against it.

Farmers and fishermen losing their income. Millions of people in food insecurity who are going hungry. And millions more who are forced to flee because their homes are becoming unliveable. That is unjust. Together we will wake up governments and businesses. And we will take action for a climate-just world for everyone.

What does 11.11.11?

Standing side by side with those hardest hit, we fight climate injustice. We champion solutions so that everyone in the world can rise to the challenge of climate change.

To achieve climate justice:

  • Do we put pressure on policymakers and make ourselves heard during climate negotiations?
  • We work together with international partners, activists and local communities
  • Together with you and thousands of volunteers, we will take local action and campaign

What solutions are we pushing for?

  • A reduction in greenhouse gas emissions to keep global warming below the safe limit of 1,5°C.
  • A fair phasing out of fossil fuels and fossil subsidies, in Belgium and worldwide.
  • A just transition for workers in polluting sectors, with decent work, social protection and participation.
  • Climate policy with respect for nature, human rights and labor rights.
  • A democratic climate policy inside and outside Belgium in which workers, women, farmers and indigenous communities are given a voice.
  • A fair contribution from Belgium to international climate financing so that communities in low- and middle-income countries can tackle the climate crisis.
  • A contribution to the Climate Damage Fund (Loss and Damage Fund) to support victims in recovery and reconstruction after climate disasters.
  • A raw materials transition so that we reduce the devastating impact of mining on people and nature. And thus tackle overconsumption, promote recycling, circular economy and sustainable products.
  • Include ecocide in the criminal code and rights for nature
  • Transition to sustainable food systems
  • Supporting farmers in adapting to current climate change
