Ecuador has a rich biodiversity, an abundance of raw materials and a strong affinity between indigenous peoples and nature. Our partners in Ecuador therefore focus on the protection of people and nature. We promote alternatives, support environmental activists and strive for gender equality. Due to the increasing crime and drug violence, we also focus specifically on local initiatives that support human rights activists.

Here the partners of 11.11.11 for in Ecuador:

Our partners in Ecuador play a crucial role in protecting nature, particularly from oil exploration and mining. These activities cause enormous environmental damage, loss of habitats and human rights violations. Through collective action, we have achieved important victories, such as the successful referendum against oil drilling in the Yasuní National Park.

The rights of nature have been enshrined in the Ecuadorian constitution for over 15 years. Our Ecuadorian partners involved in this unique event are the most progressive organizations in the world in the field of rights of nature, with groundbreaking actions, results and even lawsuits as a result.

We defend vulnerable groups, such as indigenous communities, people from rural villages and people of African descent, as well as women and LGBTQI people. Our partners are committed to providing legal support in cases of violence and disappearance. We also work with international institutions to address large-scale human rights violations and our partners play an important role in strengthening democratic processes through education and support for grassroots initiatives.

We work with our partners on fair economic policies, tackling inequality and also protecting human rights and nature in trade agreements. In addition, we support legal opposition to projects that cause enormous damage to people and the environment.

We fight against oil extraction in the Ecuadorian Amazon, fight against deforestation for palm oil, campaign against the large-scale use of pesticides and more. In recent years, we have focused more on stopping large-scale mining projects and illegal mining. 11.11.11 is one of our international partners in that struggle.
