Make Change Happen

Defending the right to decent work and social protection;
combating and preventing poverty and exclusion;
This is what WSM works on every day.

WSM is a Belgian NGO that strengthens and connects social movements worldwide in networks, so that both current and future generations can enjoy their universal right to decent work and social protection.

Worldwide, three out of four people cannot live with dignity from their hard work. Even more people have to survive when they are sick, unemployed or old. However, decent work and social protection are not privileges, they are human rights. Moreover, they are the best guarantee against poverty and exclusion.

Defending labor rights and the right to social protection;
Combating and preventing poverty and exclusion; that is what WSM does every day. We do not do this alone. We work together with 98 organisations in Belgium and 23 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America: trade unions, mutualities, microcredit institutions, women's, youth and senior citizens' organisations.

These organizations are driving change on the ground:
a living wage for the seamstress of our clothes in Bangladesh,
affordable medical care for farmers in Mali,
a training course for young people in Guatemala to become bakers,
a safe workplace for miners in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

But real and lasting change requires a global commitment and a global approach. That is why we connect our partners in a network (with each other) in the countries themselves but also internationally so that together we can sound louder when we claim our fundamental rights.

Together we demand that politics and economics put people back at the center, while respecting the limits of our planet. With your voice, we will be even louder.

Make change happen!
