Teaching Volunteers

Teach the Teachers is a non-profit initiative founded to make an impact on the rural communities and especially their youth, by teaching and promoting English. We aim to reach this goal by working together with the local teachers to improve their English, help them come up with new teaching methods and stressing the importance of English to the students. Knowledge of English increases their job opportunities, allows for self-development, and eventually increases their general welfare.

As a teaching volunteer, you will

Conduct the 7 online sessions with your team.

Come up with lesson plans and new learning material.

Prepare for the sessions based on lesson plans and curriculum.

Document the regular performance of the Peruvian Teachers and provide feedback.

Travel to Peru during the summer for 5-6 weeks and deliver lessons in person.

Join sporadic team building and fun activities

We are looking for people who

Are used to / like to work together in a team.
Are not afraid of taking initiative.
Have a desire to learn and grow.
Have an interest in or experience in education and/or languages.
Have a motivation to make a real impact and difference.
Love to travel to Peru and to experience their culture.

We have a team of +- 14 teaching volunteers and some support and organizational volunteers. In small groups of 3 you are matched with a group of Peruvian teachers to conduct the online sessions. During summer, our volunteers travel to Peru to visit our teachers and conduct intensive English sessions.

An adventure with Teach the Teachers offers a great intercultural experience where you can practice soft skills, experience the international educational scene and immerse yourself in the Peruvian communities.
