The European Network on Independent Living (ENIL) is looking for a 4 month maternity cover for the Projects and Administration Officer in our Brussels office, with a starting date of 1 September 2025. The Projects and Administration Officer is responsible for the smooth running of our office, and for helping with the organisation of our meetings and events. Among the key responsibilities is coordinating the European Solidarity Corps programme at ENIL. This means, among other, supporting our volunteers with settling in and during their stay in Brussels. This is a key post in the organisation, responsible for ensuring the smooth everyday operation of the small Brussels office, helping with running of our events and supporting the staff and interns with administrative tasks. Because of the nature of this position, the post holder must be able to come to the office on a daily basis. Please note that ENIL is not in a position to support with or pay for relocation costs to Brussels. 2. Responsibilities The Projects and Administration Officer will be responsible for the following: Administrative tasks
- Coordination of work at the office in Brussels, including weekly meetings with the staff and volunteers based in Brussels
- Supporting the new staff and volunteers with obtaining building access and office keys, and induction to the work at the office
- Maintaining an inventory of equipment and preparing a list of the needed office stationery, equipment and/or furniture, as required
- Collecting post, answering telephone queries and redirecting them to other staff members
- Filing and archiving of administrative documents, in line with the legal and project requirements
- Providing support with organising internal and external evaluations
- Maintaining a cleaning schedule for the office and shared areas
- Acting as a contact person for Mundo J Keeping track of office attendance and working from home schedules of the Brussels staff, to make sure that the ENIL Brussels office is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 – 17:00, or 10:00 am to 18:00 pm (excluding public holidays)
3 Events coordination
- Responsible for the logistics of other online or face to face events (hearings, roundtables, conferences, protests, regional meetings), including assisting with dissemination of information about the events, registration of participants, coordination of the speakers and participants, travel and accommodation arrangements, catering, captioning, interpretation, budget monitoring, preparing materials and the room etc.
- Supporting the organisation of ENIL meetings at Mundo J (printing documents, preparing flipcharts, purchasing coffee/tea, ordering catering)
- Supporting the Director with the annual face to face Board meeting Managing the European Solidarity Corps programme
- Drafting and publication of calls for new ESC volunteers
- Recruitment of volunteers, in cooperation with other staff members
- Finding sending organisations and acting as a contact point
- Supporting volunteers with obtaining accommodation, residence documents, with accessibility needs etc.
- Supporting volunteers with employing and managing personal assistants (where applicable)
- Coordinating the training for volunteers- Recruiting and coordinating mentors for volunteers
- Acting as a contact person for the national agency (JINT) Project management and youth policy
- Supporting the staff and consultants with project management; this may include attending meetings, helping to organise events, monitoring and evaluation, reporting etc.
- Providing input into youth related policies and initiatives at EU level, based on ENIL’s experience with the ESC and the ENIL Youth Network, in collaboration with the Policy and Movement Support Coordinator
- Attending meetings of the Erasmus+ Coalition on behalf of ENIL

Every year, ENIL undertakes a number of activities to raise awareness of the rights of disabled people in Europe at both the national and European Level. The Freedom Drive is ENIL’s flagship campaign and takes place every two years. The week-long event provides an opportunity for Members of the European Parliament to meet with disabled people from across Europe and to discuss issues that affecting their lives. It also provides an opportunity for disabled people from across Europe to come together and exchange their experiences in an informal way, as well as facilitate further development of the Independent Living Movement.
