Job Overview
As a Fundraising manager at Becode, you'll be a pivotal part of our team, driving our fundraising initiatives and playing a crucial role in leveraging and securing resources to support our training programs. You'll be at the heart of our mission, connecting with the Belgian philanthropic ecosystem and crafting compelling narratives to support our cause. This role offers the opportunity to work with a small and dynamic team, and drive meaningful change in the lives of vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities and Duties
As Fundraising Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing the philanthropic fundraising strategy including specific actions, targeting both individual donors, foundations, family offices and corporate partnerships
- Identifying and actively hunting for new potential donations, grants, and partnerships, as well as other collaboration opportunities that align with Becode’s social mission and impact KPIs.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including major public or private donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations.
- Implementing, overseeing and optimizing digital platforms for donor engagement and fundraising campaigns, ensuring effective reach and impact, by using our Friends of Becode fund opened with the King Baudouin Foundation (FRB) and any other tool that will be most relevant to reach the target group.
- Drafting engaging grant and donation proposals and their follow-up reports that really connect with the donors and partners and that are compliant with the overall support reporting guidelines.
- Monitoring and analyzing philanthropic fundraising activities, using data to drive strategy and improve results.
- Representing BeCode together with the CEO in various events and meetings.
- Follow-up on donations, reporting toward finance department and other internal and external stakeholders
In this position, you will be part of our Project Team directly managed by our CEO. You will collaborate closely with our Project Managers to monitor the implementation, staffing, and budgeting of projects with key stakeholders. You will also work alongside our finance team to effectively manage budgets and handle invoices for partnership agreements and grants.

- Be a real go-getter, demonstrating proactive and enthusiastic efforts in fundraising and relationship building.
- Have at least 5 years of professional experience in either sales, account management, fundraising or other relevant experience.
- Experience within the Belgian philanthropic ecosystem is a strong asset.
- Have a proven track record of achieving sales/fundraising targets and driving growth
- Have excellent writing skills in English and French, with proficiency in Dutch being a strong advantage.
- Have good relationship-building skills and a strong sense of business priorities
- Be comfortable with digital tools and platforms, with a talent for leveraging technology in fundraising.
- Be organized, structured and assertive willing to strive to work as efficiently and effectively as possible
- Be an excellent team player.
