About Selfless Solutions
At Selfless Solutions, we envision a future where all children and youth in Tanzania have access to quality education and economic opportunities, no matter their background. We work toward this future this by designing and implementing innovative and scalable solutions that expand access to quality education and economic opportunities for Tanzanian children and youth. Our organization currently operates three programs: the Selfless Sponsor Program, the E-Shuleni Program, and a Volunteer & Internship Program.
What will you actually do?
As a Communications Intern, you will work under the supervision of Selfless Solutions’ Communications Manager to grow awareness of our work and strengthen engagement with supporters. This program offers you the opportunity to participate hands-on in development work while gaining invaluable experience for your professional and personal growth.
While you will receive guidance and mentorship, you are expected to be self-motivated and proactive in identifying how to further the goals of our projects. Your responsibilities might include, but are not limited to:
1. Content & Digital Communication
- Media production: Capturing and editing high-quality content (photo/video) for online platforms.
- Social media: Supporting daily social media management to keep our community engaged.
- Graphic design: Assisting with the creation of promotional and digital materials.
2. Stakeholder Engagement & Fundraising
- Relationship building: Helping establish and maintain relationships with relevant partners and supporters.
- Reporting: Communicating project updates clearly and professionally to stakeholders.
- Fundraising: Identifying potential donors and contributing to fundraising campaigns and events (a shared responsibility among all staff).
3. Collaboration & Strategy
- Outreach: Working with the team to improve and expand our organizational outreach initiatives.
- Innovation: Proactively identifying gaps and suggesting creative ideas to strengthen the organization’s voice.

- Background: Interest or background in Communication, Media, Journalism, or related fields.
- Proactive mindset: You are a creative problem-solver, comfortable working both independently and within a team.

Our programs are specifically designed for those serious about making a positive change in the world. If your primary motivation is travel or a holiday, this is likely not the right fit for you.
Please note that we require our volunteers and interns to complete certain training prior to their arrival. Participants will not be able to work until first completing all assigned training. We look for committed individuals who share our values of dedication and professional development.
