Education Coordinator
Requirements:
We are looking for an enthusiastic person (25 – 45 years) with the following qualities and qualifications:
- Dynamic and flexible with a passion for children
- Excellent planning, administration and organizational skills
- Degree or diploma in social sciences (social worker, socio- educational care work, …)
- Must be able to work under pressure, take initiative, possess leadership qualities and work independently.
- Proven experience of at least 5 years in working in social (development) sector with contactable references
- Multilingual
- Afrikaans (fluent in writing and speaking)
- English (fluent in writing and speaking)
- Basic understanding of isiXhosa is a benefit
- Dutch (would be a bonus)
- Computer literate (Advanced)
- Word
- Excel
- Publisher
- PowerPoint
- Outlook
- Canva
- Online database
- Social media manager and knowledge of WordPress is an advantage
- Driver’s license (PDP) and own car
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Organize and attend weekend camps & education outings during school holidays
- Organize afterschool educational projects and competitions
- Supervision of volunteers, foreign interns and homework programs
- Organizing all logistical aspects of visiting and local volunteers
- Overseeing internships of students, coordinating written evaluations and communication with foreign lecturers
- Management of social media sector of organization:
- Website (WordPress)
- Administration support
- Media Marketing
- Keep thorough filing system of all educational program (attendance, program planning)
- Compile newsletter, both in English and Dutch
- Preparation of all PowerPoint presentations and booklets for marketing/promotional/fundraising purposes for local and foreign office
- Continuous communication with funders abroad, volunteers and foreign board members
