Education Coordinator

Requirements:

We are looking for an enthusiastic person (25 – 45 years) with the following qualities and qualifications:

- Dynamic and flexible with a passion for children

- Excellent planning, administration and organizational skills

- Degree or diploma in social sciences (social worker, socio- educational care work, …)

- Must be able to work under pressure, take initiative, possess leadership qualities and work independently.

- Proven experience of at least 5 years in working in social (development) sector with contactable references

- Multilingual 

  • Afrikaans (fluent in writing and speaking)
  • English (fluent in writing and speaking)
  • Basic understanding of isiXhosa is a benefit
  • Dutch (would be a bonus)

- Computer literate (Advanced)

  • Word
  • Excel
  • Publisher
  • PowerPoint
  • Outlook
  • Canva
  • Online database
  • Social media manager and knowledge of WordPress is an advantage

- Driver’s license (PDP) and own car

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Organize and attend weekend camps & education outings during school holidays
  • Organize afterschool educational projects and competitions
  • Supervision of volunteers, foreign interns and homework programs
  • Organizing all logistical aspects of visiting and local volunteers
  • Overseeing internships of students, coordinating written evaluations and communication with foreign lecturers
  • Management of social media sector of organization:
    • Facebook
    • Instagram
    • Website (WordPress)
  • Administration support
    • Media Marketing
    • Keep thorough filing system of all educational program (attendance, program planning)
    • Compile newsletter, both in English and Dutch
    • Preparation of all PowerPoint presentations and booklets for marketing/promotional/fundraising purposes for local and foreign office
    • Continuous communication with funders abroad, volunteers and foreign board members
