UNITED for Palestine

Come to the alternative Eurovision Song Contest

Tuesday 12 May - La Madeleine, Brussels

ON 12 MAY, WE DO NOT GIVE GENOCIDE A STAGE
WE CHOOSE HUMANITY, PEACE AND JUSTICE

While Belgium performs in the Eurovision semi-final, Israel is once again given an international stage.

DESPITE THE WAR CRIMES, DESPITE THE OCCUPATION, DESPITE THE GENOCIDE.

That is unacceptable to us.

We asked Belgium not to participate.
We asked VRT and RTBF not to broadcast the show.
They are doing it anyway.

That is why we are creating an alternative stage on 12 May in Brussels.

UNITED FOR PALESTINE

An evening of music, spoken word and solidarity.
An alternative for those who refuse to look away from the reality in Palestine, Iran and Lebanon.

Why this is necessary

The Eurovision Song Contest presents itself as apolitical and unifying. But culture is never separate from reality.

Since October 2023, Israel has killed more than 75,000 Palestinians in Gaza. The death toll continues to rise every day. The country systematically blocks humanitarian aid and uses hunger as a weapon. Hospitals, schools and residential areas lie in ruins. International law has been torn to shreds.

Violence is also escalating in the West Bank, and colonization continues to expand.

These are facts that have been extensively documented and denounced.

And yet Israel is given an international stage.

That is not a neutral choice.
It's a decision with consequences.

The stage becomes a message that normalizes violence and exposes millions of viewers to Israeli propaganda.

We know that exclusion is possible. After Russia invaded Ukraine, Russia was immediately excluded from the contest to protect its reputation. Belarus was also removed from the competition because of the political and propaganda messages in its entry. Why does that red line not apply when Palestinian civilians are being killed on a massive scale?

We refuse double standards.
We refuse business as usual.

What we stand for

United for Palestine wants to offer a space to everyone who believes that culture cannot be separated from human rights.

The Eurovision Song Contest emerged a few years after the Second World War with the aim of connecting countries. That is what we are returning to.

Music as a bridge. Not as a smokescreen to normalize violence.

With United for Palestine, we choose music, spoken word and gathering as a positive force. For a solidarity-filled evening that connects, allows space for reflection and centers hope.

SIGN OUR APPEAL: NO STAGE FOR GENOCIDE

While Israel is killing civilians on a large scale in Palestine, blocking humanitarian aid and violating international law, the country is given a stage on the Eurovision Song Contest.

That is unacceptable. We refuse to stand by.

We call for:

- The organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest to exclude Israel. Genocide, occupation and colonization are a red line.

- The organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest to exclude Israel. Genocide, occupation and colonization are a red line.
