How can the sector of international solidarity actively work on decolonisation?
In this session, participants will learn more about the work and training methodology of BAMKO, a Brussels-based diaspora association.
Bamko is an anti-racist watchdog association that trains social workers, promotes media interests and stimulates public debate. Bamko is also active in defending the rights of victims of racism, including Afrism (anti-black racism). Bamko consists of a committee of mainly women of African origin who work for racial equality and equity. They do this through educational activities in Brussels and Wallonia. The main activities are giving trainings, publishing articles and books, artistic productions and organising feminist and decolonial walks.
