Missie
Considering the current situation in Tanzania, C-re-aid tasks itself with exploring the possibilities of architecture to promote long-term ecological and affordable building. By introducing more sustainable and affordable building methods, we strongly believe our projects have the ability to trigger socio-economic change in a poverty-stricken region.
Historiek
Through experience and analysis, C-re-aid has identified that the following conditions are present in Tanzania:
There is a rapidly changing building culture, due to globalisation, climate change and environmental policies. These factors lead to poor building quality and living situations. Such conditions directly contribute to individual vulnerability, perpetuating a cycle of poverty. The continued use of un-ecological building materials and practices will have a disastrous impact on the environment, as there is an ever-increasing demand for housing and infrastructure.
Through architectural projects, we aspire a place where people are creatively inspired, and in a conducive situation to participate in an affordable, ecological and sustainable building culture. We consider architecture to be much more than simply a tool to enhance material condition!
