Replacement doctor from December 2025 to April 2026
Job description
WGC de Central in Kessel-Lo relies on five physicians and a junior doctor for its general practitioner care. We are looking for a replacement physician to cover one of our physicians' maternity leave this coming winter. Would you like to be part of this great team during this period?
Importantly, to accommodate our ever-growing patient population, we're opening a second center nearby in September 2026. We're also looking for a new, permanent GP colleague. More information can be found here: www.wgcdecentral.be/vacaturesAre you interested in both positions: first a replacement and, if it's a good fit, continuing to work here? You're already at an advantage!
The Central's interdisciplinary care team currently consists of six general practitioners, five physiotherapists, four nurses, two psychologists, two social workers and a health promoter.
The care team is "unburdened" by a fantastic support team that takes over or supports logistical, administrative, and organizational tasks. This team consists of four administrative staff members, a practice assistant, and a coordinator.
In addition to our permanent staff, we work closely with several independent healthcare providers, including a dietitian, an exercise coach, a midwife, and a work supervisor. Patient reception is provided by approximately 15 volunteers.
As a team, we attach importance to accessible care with:
- - empathy with the insights and experiences of various people from different cultures,
- - alertness to structural exclusion mechanisms with regard to socially vulnerable groups,
- - with a view to prevention and health promotion,
- - enjoy working together constructively in a team.
Desired profile
As a (substitute) physician in a community health center, you'll work with an interdisciplinary team responsible for curative and preventive care for our diverse patient population. Your responsibilities include both in-office consultations and a limited number of home visits. Consultation with your direct physician colleagues and the interdisciplinary team is an integral part of our approach, fostering a positive work environment.
Furthermore:
- Do you have a diploma in general practice and are you looking for something 'a little different' than traditional GP care?
- do you have a good knowledge of Dutch, French and English.
Our offer
We hope to find a substitute doctor for 30 to 38 hours per week between December 2025 and April 2026, but any help is welcome. If you have limited availability, please feel free to contact us.
You can choose to work as an employee. In that case, you'll be reimbursed according to IFIC scale 20 (code 6601 – general practitioners). Would you prefer to work independently? That's certainly negotiable as well.
Please note: We work within a flat-rate system. Therefore, a job as a (substitute) doctor at a community health center cannot be combined with another job within the performance system. If you have any questions about this, we are happy to assist you.
Selection procedure
We look forward to receiving your letter of motivation and CV (to be sent to vacature@wgcdecentral.be).
