Job description
General Welfare Center (CAW) East Brabant is a independent welfare organization in the Leuven, Diest, Tienen and Aarschot region. The CAW primarily wants a hospitable point of contact are where all residents of the region can go with their questions and problems: people looking for information, advice, support, guidance, temporary housing, etc. We help unravel the problem and work together to find a suitable solution. We are currently looking for a aid worker for the JAC in team region Diest and we offer a part-time
(70%) replacement contract.
HELPER JAC
The JAC is there for all young people between the ages of 12 and 25You can look up information, ask questions, or just have a chat. The JAC is anonymous and completely free. For more information: https://www.caw.be/jac/
Your duties as a JAC care provider:
- You insure it reception : information, advice, clarification of questions, direct assistance, conducting intake interviews.
- You do this physically, by telephone, online (mail, chat, Facebook, Instagram) and outreach in the Diest region.
- Je guides young adults and this in the modules offered such as supported independent living, psychosocial support, ...
- You take an active and constructive role in the team, with a view to the further development of client-centered assistance to young people and young adults.
- You are open to collaboration with other sectors and partners and easily sees opportunities for this.
- You take care of disclosure in schools, at other services, at events, etc. and is building a network for this purpose.
- You participate in consultation, internal and external.
Desired profile
- You are a committed and highly motivated employee with a bachelor's degree in humanities.
- You are willing to work occasionally (early) evenings, on average 2 evenings per month until 19:30 PM.
- Your attitude and approach reflect ours values: involvement, care, appreciation and quality.
- You can empathize with the world of young people and young adults.
- You focus on the positive. You are open, inquisitive and empathetic.
- You find it important to look at situations from different angles and you have an eye for all areas of life of the client you work with.
- You're energized by combining different forms of care tailored to the client's needs. Outreach and online work are a natural part of that for you.
- You can listen actively and are able to provide good clarification of questions.
- You do not shy away from complex challenges and enjoy finding out which options and solutions a client can use to improve the situation.
- You have an overview of the social map of Flanders and insight into the operation of Integrated Youth Care.
- You see work and are energized by tackling various assignments and bringing them to a successful conclusion; you take initiative and are solution-oriented.
- You can work independently as well as in a team.
- You have good communication skills, both written and oral.
- You are willing to work with non-Dutch-speaking clients and interpreters. Knowledge of French and English is a plus.
- Possession of a category B driving license is an added value.
