Draw the red line for Gaza

WE DREW THE RED LINE MASSIVELY

More than a hundred thousand people crossed the Red Line for Gaza this year, protesting genocide and impunity. On both June 15th and September 7th, over 110.000 people joined you in Brussels for two of the largest demonstrations in recent years.
Across the country, committed citizens, cultural institutions, associations, schools, local businesses, and neighborhood committees painted their streets and windows red. Together, we ensured that over 70.000 red line posters appeared everywhere as a clear sign of solidarity. And together with you, we also sent over 27.000 postcards to politicians, demanding a just attitude towards Palestine.

Thank you to everyone who stood up for humanity in Palestine this year. You helped make the common thread visible.

Keep on putting pressure

Thanks to this massive public pressure, the federal and Flemish governments reached an agreement in early September on additional measures against genocide and war crimes in Palestine. But these agreements are not an end point; they represent an absolute minimum.

We must continue to put pressure on Belgium and the European Union, on companies that are complicit, against military, economic and diplomatic support for genocide.

We keep going. We don't give up.
Because as long as there is no lasting peace, the occupation continues and war crimes go unpunished, there is no business as usual.

What can you do?

1  Organize an action yourself
and encourage your municipality to take action

All over Flanders and Brussels, citizens are organizing local actions for Palestine. Some are large, some are small – but always powerful. Think of streets and businesses completely covered in red tape, neighbors gathering weekly or even daily wearing red, or window posters on every house in the neighborhood. Would you also like to help draw a red line in your city or village?

  • Gather your friends, family, neighbors and colleagues and organize a red line action yourselfRegister them and receive the necessary inspiration and support. Share a photo of your action on social media with #rodelijn and inspire others to take action.
  • Encourage your local government to take actionSubmit a motion to your city council in support of human rights and international law in Palestine. Register your initiative and you can immediately download the motion with our demands.

2  Support our legal cases against the Flemish government, NMBS, ZIM

Our struggle for Palestine also takes place in the courtroom:

  • In July 2025, we, together with several partners, went to court to to stop the illegal transit of military equipment to Israel via the Port of Antwerp. Successfully: on July 17, 2025, the judge ruled in our favor. However, the Flemish government is still considering an appeal. Such a legal battle costs a fortune. You can contribute with a donation.
  • On August 26, 2025, we served together with Al Haq Europe, Intal and Vrede vzw a complaint to the Council of State against the NMBSThe railway company wants to purchase new trains from the Spanish-Basque train manufacturer CAF for over three billion euros. But CAF is partly responsible for the expansion of the Jerusalem tram network that connects illegal Israeli settlements with Israeli territory. In doing so, the company directly contributes to a policy of apartheid and annexation. Through the through crowdfunding can you support our legal fight.
  • An Antwerp investigating judge is currently still looking into the matter complaint we filed in May 2024 against the Israeli shipping company ZIM, who shipped tons of ammunition to Israel without a transit permit.

Also don't forget the petition 'Stop Arms for Israel' to sign, a campaign by Vredesactie that we support 11.11.11 supports.

3  Inform yourself and others

Keeping informed and talking about Palestine matters.

  • On September 30, 2025, 'Tierra del Fuego. Along the front lines of the Middle East.', the new book by our Middle East expert Willem Staes. In Tierra del Fuego, he travels through Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, and Syria. In the book, you'll read moving testimonies from civilians confronted with war, occupation, and oppression: from survivors in Gaza to refugees in Jenin, from Israeli victims to Syrians in the new Israeli "buffer zone" in southern Syria.
  • Do you want to make a difference?
Organize a book launch Tierra del Fuego and share your activity with friends, acquaintances, colleagues, and your community. Willem's book primarily features people from the region. This will also be the preferred focus of the book launch: a panel discussion where Willem will speak with several activists from the region currently living in Belgium, thus providing a platform for the people most affected by the genocide.
  • Read about the various measures that Europe, the federal government, the Flemish government, and local authorities can take; and puts pressure on politicians to finally take concrete action.

4  Make it clear to your bank that your savings should not contribute to war crimes and genocide

Banks play a key role in the illegal Israeli occupation. Together with various Palestinian and European organizations, we expose this year after year. how Belgian banks, such as BNP Paribas, KBC, Belfius, ING and Argenta, continue to invest in companies active in occupied Palestinian territory. Recently appeared the new report of 'Don't buy into Occupation'

  • Read all about it in the article 'Is your bank enabling genocide'
  • Add pressure and register your bank through FairFin's complaint letters and demand that they end their financial relationships with companies active in occupied territory.

5  Support boycott campaigns

170 Palestinian organizations established the BDS movement (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) Their three demands are crystal clear and based on international law:

  • an end to the occupation of all Arab territories and the demolition of the Separation Wall;
  • equal rights for all Palestinian Arab citizens of Israel;
  • and respecting, protecting and promoting the right of return of Palestinian refugees, in line with UN Resolution 194.
BDS protest

The BDS movement aims to achieve its goals through a combination of boycotts, divestment, and sanctions, drawing inspiration from the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa at the time.

And you can join in. From your wardrobe and shopping cart to major fast-food chains and tech companies, businesses and brands worldwide are profiting from the occupation. The BDS Movement is uniting all these brands, products, and services and calling for a boycott.

For example: If you look at the supermarket If you're interested, you can actively boycott by not adding products to your shopping cart whose proceeds directly contribute to the occupation or illegal settlements. Think of dates, avocados, grapefruit, bell peppers, grapes, or figs grown on stolen Palestinian land, or wine from the occupied Golan Heights.

11.11.11 supports the goals of the BDS movement and supports targeted and strategic boycott campaigns. Discover the different BDS campaigns here and join in.

6  Support the work of our Palestinian partner organizations

11.11.11 supports member organizations that collaborate with Palestinian organizations. Support your 11.11.11 With a donation? Then you also support our member organizations and the courageous individuals who bring humanity to the most difficult circumstances.

Tawfiq's Al-Tahrir Nursery

Our member organization Oxfam, for example, supports various Palestinians and Palestinian organizations, such as Tawfiq's Al-Tahrir nursery. After heavy bombardments, it was completely reduced to rubble. But with the support of 11.11.11Oxfam, a member organization, started planting seeds again for Tawfiq. He and his team restored the irrigation system and provided high-quality soil and seeds. Today, the nursery is operating at full capacity and is even producing twice as many plants as before the war.

Mohammed's Al-Awda Hospital

Also our member Viva Salud supports organizations in Palestine, such as the Al-Awda Hospital where Mohammed works as a doctor and director. When the hospital in northern Gaza was forced to close at the end of May 2025 under Israeli threat, Mohammed didn't give up. Together with his team, he continues to care for the many patients and pregnant women. Today, they work from Gaza City and Nuseirat, and are building a new field hospital, as the needs continue to grow.

Mohammed

Together we draw the red line. Join us in your own way and show that we are one giant movement of solidarity. For justice. For human rights. For a future for the Palestinian people.
