Organize a film screening

Zeina, 14, and her family are among the last to survive in besieged Damascus, Syria. When a rocket hits their house, they are exposed to the outside world, whether they like it or not. The opening in the ceiling gives Zeina her first taste of freedom. A world of possibilities opens up for her: she sleeps under the stars and befriends the boy next door. But it doesn’t take long for the violence on the streets to increase again. Zeina and her parents are forced to leave. But Mutaz, her father, refuses to choose the uncertain existence of a refugee and is determined to stay in their home. 

Somewhere in the future, on a remote farm, live Suleiman and Lubna. They take care of their chickens and tend to the olive trees. While eating, they talk about their five children: Bassel, Oumaya, Hamza, Tarik and Khaled. One day, a journalist comes by to interview them. 

This short film is a textbook example of its genre and in our eyes an important exponent of Palestinian cinema. With a simple story and a sober but powerful visual language, this film will make your world shake for a moment. Every scene is intelligently choreographed and contributes to an emotional impact that you rarely experience. 

The Democratic Republic of Congo has been torn apart for twenty-five years by a war that is largely ignored by the media and the international community. The number of victims runs into the hundreds of thousands, if not millions. The perpetrators of these crimes are innumerable: rebel movements, but also armies, those of Congo and its neighbours... They all seem obsessed with power and money, and think that they can take the riches of Congo with impunity and indifference. 

Thierry Michel has been travelling through Congo with his camera for more than thirty years and has witnessed the fighting, the suffering but also the hope of the Congolese people. 

Through the plea of ​​Doctor Mukwege, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, he discovers the chains of this ruthless violence that has been ravaging Congo for a quarter of a century.
