SHIFT
For mutual understanding between Syrians and Lebanese
Through the “Shadda Media Lab” of 11.11.11-partner SHiFT, digital activists in the northern Lebanese port city of Tripoli are being trained in developing online campaigns to counter fake news, misunderstandings and racism against Syrian refugees in Lebanon. This project is part of the DGD multi-year programme of 11.11.11 in Lebanon.
Between August 2023 and January 2024, 35 videos have already been produced in this way, which have been viewed more than 2,5 million times. The project has not only contributed to reducing social tensions between Lebanese and Syrians, but has also given the young people involved better access to the labor market and ensured the formation of a new generation of Syrian and Lebanese digital peace doves.
