SAWA

Helping Syrian refugees resume their lives

When the first Syrian families fled across the border to Lebanon, Sawa for Development and Aid was created as a spontaneous initiative to provide aid. Sawa now hosts more than 850 families in 22 camps. Hundreds of volunteers provide refugees with shelter, food and drink, and organize education for teenagers. The organization also helps refugees find jobs and lobbies for their rights with local and international policymakers.
