Doctors of the World
Doctors of the World is part of the international Médecins du Monde network. As an independent medical NGO, we stand up for the universal right to health for everyone, both at home and abroad, with the main focus on care for vulnerable groups who are not included in the regular healthcare circuit.
In addition to providing care, we also actively remove financial, cultural and geographical barriers that make it difficult for people to access care.
We are active in the following pillars: People on the margins of society, Women & empowerment, Children in vulnerable situations, People on the move or on the run and People in emergency situations.
We adhere to 5 essential values: Social Justice, Empowerment, Engagement, Balance and Independence.
DVW helps the most vulnerable population groups all over the world but also in Belgium. We care for victims of natural disasters, war and political oppression as well as refugees, minority groups at risk, street children, drug addicts, people without health insurance...
