Vision of BOS+

MORE THAN JUST TREES

Forests and trees provide crucial ecosystem services and contribute to a better society. Greater efforts are needed for the conservation, sustainable management and expansion of forests to achieve a liveable world for humans, plants and animals.

BOS+ is in touch with the field of forest managers and forest owners, monitors the situation in its own country and follows global trends. 
Based on all available expertise, BOS+ develops an innovative vision on forests and trees.

Based on this vision, BOS+ wants to encourage various target groups to become more actively involved in more and better forests.

Because of the broad social importance of forests, BOS+ must conduct its plea together with other committed social actors. That is why BOS+ makes instruments available to civil society, companies, opinion and policy makers, education, environmental and North-South associations, and forest and nature managers to work together for more and better forests, both nationally and internationally.

Mission of BOS+

BOS+ is the driving force behind actions around sustainable local development by working on the conservation, sustainable management and expansion of forests, here and in the south. BOS+ contributes to a growing awareness of the importance of forests and trees for a liveable world for people, plants and animals. BOS+ actively works together with partner organisations for this purpose.

Five strategic goals of BOS+

* BOS+ carries out actions on the ground with a dual objective: sustainable local development and conservation, sustainable management, restoration or expansion of forests.
* BOS+ focuses on capacity building of forest managers with a view to sustainable multifunctional forest and nature management.
* BOS+ offers education and civil society a high-quality educational offering on the importance of forests and trees, to encourage them to make the transition to sustainable attitudes and behaviour.
* BOS+ informs and raises awareness among companies and civil society about the social importance of trees and forests, and activates them to contribute to more and better forests.
* Through an active press and communication policy, BOS+ brings its analyses, positions and demands to the attention of policy makers, opinion leaders and the public, thus contributing to greater social appreciation of trees and forests.
