AidProfen
For the protection of women and children
Aidprofen was founded in 2011 by Congolese Passy Mubalama, after a terrible confrontation with the poor living conditions in the Mungunga camp, a refugee camp in North Kivu (DR Congo). She was determined to improve the situation of women and children in the camp. Aidprofen's intervention zone quickly expanded and the organisation evolved to the broader domain of women's rights and participation in the political process for women and young people.
Aidprofen stimulates the political engagement of women and young people. It wants to make them combative so that they can defend their rights themselves. The organization defends human rights, fights against sexual and gender-related violence and contributes to general peace and democracy in DR Congo.
Passy has received national and international recognition for her work in support of women's rights.
