Agir for Transparent Elections and Apaisées (AETA)
In action for transparent and peaceful elections
Agir pour des Elections Transparantes et Apaisées (AETA) is a platform of Congolese civil society. Its goal is to promote democratic culture in Congo and make the electoral process more transparent. Some of our partner organizations, such as RECIC Kinshasa, are part of it.
AETA wants civil society to be involved and recognized in all reforms and decisions concerning the electoral law. It advocates more attention and resources to inform the population and motivate people to participate actively in the elections. It also calls for a permanent dialogue between the population and political leaders. 11.11.11 coordinates its support for the AETA programme with the French-speaking umbrella organisation of North-South organisations CNCD-11.11.11.
AETA is an established value within Congolese civil society thanks to its expertise, recognition and commitment to electoral processes. Its analyses are well received in the political world and the organisation succeeds in influencing policy decisions regarding the electoral process to a certain extent.
