Action for the Development of the Environmental Environment (ADMR)
Strengthens the rights of vulnerable people
Action pour le Developpement des Milieux Ruraux (ADMR) was founded in 1990 and is based in the city of Bukavu in the province of South Kivu. The organisation encourages women, young people and other vulnerable groups to stand up for their rights and thus improve their living conditions.
ADMR works on education, food security, health and environment. It helps local groups advocate for improvements with the municipal or provincial government.
Another initiative is local reporting points for illegal practices, such as barriers along the road to make passers-by pay tolls. These reporting points report this to ADMR, which addresses the competent authority.
