The events of the past few weeks have left the world gasping for breath. The end of the Assad dictatorship, an unattainable dream for millions of Syrians for years, is now a reality. But after decades of oppression, violence and fear, Syrie for a new challenge: building a just and democratic country.
11.11.11 and her partners were always there, even when all seemed lost. Together with our partners, we have worked for years on hope and change, often under the most difficult circumstances. These organisations are on the front lines of humanitarian aid, human rights and social change.
We highlight some of our partners:
Basmeh & Zeitooneh
This organization, founded by Syrian refugees themselves, helps thousands of displaced Syrians in Lebanon, Turkey and in Syria itself. They provide emergency aid, education and vocational training. But they go further than that: they empower refugee and youth organizations to take leadership and actively contribute to their communities. A future for Syria starts with them.
Women Now for Development
In a country torn by war, women are often the hardest hit. Women Now supports women in Syria, Lebanon and Turkey with psychosocial support, education and leadership training. They give women the voice and power to build a new, inclusive society. A society in which women's rights are self-evident.
Through the collaboration with 11.11.11 Women Now can therefore increase the power of women. We do this by offering them support and growth opportunities.
Refugee Protection Watch
Returning home safely is the right of every refugee. RPW documents human rights violations and advocates in international forums for the creation of conditions for a safe, voluntary and dignified return of Syrian refugees. Together with our Syrian and Lebanese partners in the RPW coalition, 11.11.11 refugees and refugee-led organisations at the centre of European and international discussions about the future of millions of Syrian refugees.
By Beyond War
Through Beyond War, we work in Northern Syria and Southern Turkey to create a better future for Syrian youth. Through a wide range of training courses, we strengthen the capacity of youth organisations and create a new generation of youth leaders. We also connect different youth organisations and initiatives to build a shared vision for the future of Syria.
olive branch
In addition to humanitarian aid to refugees, Olive Branch also offers education, vocational training and peacebuilding projects. They work with local communities in Syria and Turkey. Their goal: to strengthen the skills of Syrians so that they can be self-reliant and play an active role in their own community.
Hevdesti
Hevdesti, which means “synergy,” is a Syrian human rights organization that documents violations of international law in northeastern Syria. The organization collects evidence and testimonies, and together with victims, demands justice and accountability for human rights violations. Special attention is paid to the fate of the tens of thousands of prisoners and missing persons in Syria, and to placing the perspectives of survivors and victims at the center.
Tackle
Tastakel is a Syrian women's rights organization that organizes trainings and dialogue sessions for female refugees in Syria and Turkey. Together with 11.11.11 and other partners, the organization implemented the “Digital Space for Civic Space” project in southern Turkey between 2022 and 2024, with the support of the European Union.
Syrians for Truth and Justice
Like Hevdesti, Syrians for Truth and Justice (STJ) monitors the human rights situation in northern Syria. STJ also documents the rapidly increasing number of forced deportations of Syrian refugees in Turkey. Since its foundation in 2016, STJ has documented thousands of violations and written dozens of reports. STJ also trains local activists in documenting human rights violations, provides legal support to victims and lobbies for the rights of Syrians at European and international level.
Now, more than ever, we continue to support them, and the many other Syrian partners of 11.11.11, support to help shape the new Syria. Together we will do everything we can for human dignity and freedom. And thanks to your donation we will continue to build a just Syria.
